Healthy Wiring Practices: The Building Biology Method

William Holland PhotoWilliam Holland, founder and principal of Holland Electrical, based in the Los Angeles area, has over twenty-five years' experience as a Licensed Electrical Contractor.

William took his training as a building biologist in 2012 and 2013. Since then, has been integrating building biology principles of identification and mitigation of EMFs into his electrical practice. He also conducts full EMF evaluations for clients in Southern California and beyond.

William became a Teaching Assistant for IBE's Advanced Electromagnetic Radiation Seminar, IBE 312, in December 2016.

In 2015, William co-founded the Living Harmony Project with Monica Sheehan, who is now the Executive Director. The Project's mission is to provide evaluation and mitigation of EMFs in the homes of war veterans and families who have spent great sums of money trying to restore their health who have exhausted their funds.

Oram Miller PhotoOram Miller, BBEC, EMRS, founder and principal of Create Healthy Homes, based in Los Angeles, serves as IBE's Director of Learning & Development, a capacity in which he is intimately involved in curriculum development for basic and advanced EMR seminars taught by IBE, as well as supporting our seminar instructors in the role of teaching assistant.

Oram's present focus is EMF evaluation and mitigation of existing buildings as well as providing consultations for healthy new home construction for clients throughout Southern California and nationwide. He has provided more than 1,700 consultations since receiving his certification in 2003.

He is co-author, along with fellow building biologists George Swanson and Wayne Federer, of Breathing Walls, featuring protocols for designing and building a healthy new or remodeled home without mold or chemical outgassing. He lectures extensively on EMF hazards and solutions, with emphasis on wireless communications and mitigation of EM fields from home wiring. He's been interviewed on numerous radio programs and podcasts on the topic of EMFs and healthy homes, and produced and is host of a webinar series for the Green Home Institute (, titled, "Reducing occupant exposure to EMFs in residential construction".

In further selfless service to IBE and its students, Oram founded and oversees an Apprenticeship Program for EMRS and BBEC Professional Certification students and recently certified alumni. He also served on the institute’s Conference Planning Committee, in 2011, 2012, 2015, as well as serving on our 2017 planning committee.
